today, was the 6th day, my friends and i undergoing summer practical..

the experiences so far -.-.-.-.-.- quite interesting, challenging, brainstorming and inducing ;)

the boys are placed at neurological department, while the girls are placed at traumatological department

up to today, our main works is transportation of patients.

besides that, we also observed how to change dressing. here in russia, freqently they use boric acid in powder form as antiseptic. i wonder why? maybe they are cheap and easy to use...:>

i, myself had an opportunity to follow all the surgeons of the traumatology department doing their weekly rounds.there, i could observe various conditions of patients who were admitted to the department.

but, mostly, the occupants of the department are old women and men, who have joints problem (eg osteoarthritis etc.). they undergo operation to replace the joint with artificial one or maybe just to relocate the joint, tendons, and ligaments all over again.

they are also some patients who were admitted due to trauma cases or accidents. there are patients who got amputated, single and even both legs, fingers amputation and others.

and today, we got chance to watched an operation on atherosclerotic patient..eventhough have to jengket2 a bit..

since most of you have started your practical~

so~!
today i learn something about CPR~ from my sis.

I know that lots of us already learn it during therapy class last sem..
but this is just an additional information..

the main 3 things is ABC. 

Airways-Breathing-Circulation..

AIRWAYS

1. check the patient consciousness, wake the patient up, if no feedback continue to the next step~

2. place patient on his back, loosen any tight clothing around the patient neck/chest

3. lift up the chin & tilt the patient head as far as possible

4. at first check the patient airways for any foreign object of substance that blocking the patient breathing. if present tilt the patient head and remove the mucus or water and wipe the patient mouth.

BREATHING

1. check patient breathing by putting your ear at the patient nose.

NB! this position allow you to feel the patient exhalation air at your ear
and we can see the patient chest movement or
the upward or inward movement of the ribs

CIRCULATION

1. check the patient carotid artery or pulse.

and after all this the procedure is just the same as we learn in Russia.

heart compression is done 20:2 ventilation

if doing it alone 

when the patient is collapse, 1st check the BP and ect, the cause of it..

then call the medical officer

NB! only Medical Officer can pronounce the time of death~!
